Elected Officials in County of Nevada Government are listed below, with links to their home pages, and are shown in the County Organizational Chart.

 

 
Sue Horne (Assessor) The office of the Assessor is responsible for locating taxable property, identifying its owner, establishing its value and then publishing this information in the assessment rolls.
Marcia Salter (Auditor - Controller) The Auditor-Controller is the chief accounting officer of the County, responsible for budget control, disbursements, receipts and the accounting and reporting functions of the county's budget.
Board of Supervisors The Board of Supervisors is the legislative and executive body of county government and also serves as the governing body of the Nevada County Sanitation District No. 1 and the Nevada County Housing Authority. In addition, members of the Board represent the County on numerous intergovernmental bodies.
Gregory J. Diaz (Clerk - Recorder) The Clerk-Recorder maintains your records when you marry, have children, buy and sell property, open a business and more.
Clifford Newell (District Attorney) The District Attorney provides exemplary legal services to enhance public safety and create a sense of security in the community through vigorous enforcement of the law in a just, honest, efficient, and ethical manner, and, while doing so, treating all people in a professional, honest, and respectful manner.
Gregory J. Diaz (Registrar of Voters) The Nevada County Registrar of Voters is responsible for  protecting the integrity of the process, and promoting public trust and confidence through administration of fair and accurate elections.​
Keith Royal (Sheriff-Coroner-Public Administrator) The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office is committed to providing excellence in public service in partnership with our community.​

Nate Beason (Supervisor District 1) District 1 includes Nevada City and the unincorporated areas of Banner Mountain, Cascade Shores, Deer Creek, and the Highway 174 corridor.​

Ed Scofield Ed Scofield (Supervisor District 2) District 2 includes the communities of Alta Sierra, Lake of the Pines, and unincorporated areas along Highway 49.
Terry Lamphier (Supervisor District 3) District 3 includes the City of Grass Valley, Cedar Ridge, the Brunswick Basin, Squirrel Creek, and unincorporated areas along Highways 49 and 20.
Hank Weston (Supervisor District 4) District 4 includes the communities of Penn Valley, North San Juan, Rough & Ready, Lake Wildwood, Spenceville, and unincorporated areas along Highways 20 and 49.


Richard Anderson (Supervisor District 5) District 5 includes the Town of Truckee, and the communities of Soda Springs, Washington, Graniteville, Hirschdale, Boca, Floriston, and unincorporated areas along Highways 49, 20, 89, and Interstate 80.
Tina Vernon (Treasurer - Tax Collector) The Nevada County Treasurer & Tax Collector is responsible for the billing and collecting of property taxes and for receiving, investing and most importantly, safeguarding county taxpayer funds.
