Credit Card Payment

Pay by Virtual Check

Pay by Virtual Check

This Website has been set up to process payments using the virtual check process. This is a no cost, Internet-based option. A form is filled out on a secure web server with your checking account information. Payment is made when you complete the entry process. No fee is charged for this service.

You may make payment on the following types of invoices at this time:
  • Payments for research by our Records Staff. (Call first and receive an invoice number )
  • Invoices received from our Planning Department.
  • Invoices received from our Environmental Health Department.
When you go to the virtual check payment site, you will be asked to fill in information regarding your checking account numbers. Be very careful to enter your routing number with exactly 9 digits. Also be careful to enter your checking account number correctly. Errors in entry will cause your check to be returned.

Please enter the invoice number in the memo box of the virtual check and in the comments box. Also, use the comments box to add any additional information that will help us in applying your payment correctly.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION BEFORE YOU ENTER THE VIRTUAL CHECK SYSTEM:
  • Use Correct Bank Checking Account Numbers

Before you click the "Submit Payment" button, check the bank routing number and the bank account number at least twice to make sure you have entered them correctly. Both of these sets of numbers consist of numbers only with no dashes, slashes, or spaces.

The Virtual Check will be printed with the routing number and the account number you have furnished. If the numbers are wrong, the check will not be honored by your bank and your payment will be reversed.

So, avoid the returned check fee of $25 charged by CDA; double-check the data before you submit the payment.

Some Credit Unions do not accept virtual check transactions. So ask your Credit Union if they will accept this type of transaction.

Click on the link below to process your payment using the virtual check process.
  • Do Not Use Money Market Checking or Investment Accounts
  • Who Receives My Data?

Only the Accounting staff of the Nevada County Community Development Agency has access to your data. They will print your check. After the check is printed, the data is deleted from our system. Please note that we do not release your e-mail address to anyone. It is for our use only. (For more information on how the County uses your Internet-collected data, visit our Web Policies page.
  • Pay the Correct Amount

Pay the exact amount due on the invoice.
  • Your Phone Number

On the Virtual Check, please give us a telephone number where you can be reached from 8 AM to 5 PM. In some cases we might need to telephone you in order to resolve a problem.
  • We Contact you via E-mail

Make sure you have given us your correct e-mail address. If we discover a problem before we deposit your check we will send an e-mail to the address you provided. If necessary, modify your junk mail ("spam") filters to allow delivery of our incoming e-mail. Our e-mail domain name is: @co.nevada.ca.us
  • Print the Receipt Screen

After you have double-checked your data and clicked the "Submit Payment" button, a receipt screen will appear. PRINT IT AND RETAIN IT!

If you find an error in the data that is shown on the receipt screen, contact us immediately by E-mail at: judith.richert@co.nevada.ca.us

The Virtual Check screen will open in a new browser window, so you can refer to this information as you complete the form. OR, click the "Print this Article" button at the upper right of this page to print out a copy.
