Specialized vertical prosecution units have been established to handle auto theft, child abuse, driving under the influence cases, drug cases, spousal abuse, sexual assault, statutory rape, and vehicle manslaughter. A felony team that consists of the Assistant District Attorney and a Deputy District Attorney handles all other felony cases. These would be violent felonies and crimes such as burglary, and theft. These two attorneys handle most of the repeat property crime offenders and Three Strike offenders.
