Components of the Fire Plan (including background information and recommendations) have been incorporated into the Nevada County General Plan Safety Element.
The proposed Safety Element update and Initial Study/Negative Declaration were brought before the Planning Commission on August 28, 2008. The Planning Commission adopted the Negative Declaration for the proposed Safety Element and recommended approval of the proposed Safety Element to the Board of Supervisors. The Board of Supervisors adopted the amendments to the Nevada County Safety Element, incorporating the components of the Nevada County Fire Plan into the aforementioned Element on September 9, 2008. This update goes into effect on the date of adoption.
