Why Perspectives?
The County of Nevada has been working with the California State Library and other Counties to develop a Website structure that can work for every County in the State. Nevada is the second County (after project partner San Mateo) to implement this structure.
You'll find the Perspectives buttons across the top of every page of our Website, so you can always start a new browse no matter where you are.
The Perspectives organization enables us to pre-filter the thousands of items of information contained in our site. (For example, a Visitor to Nevada County probably isn't interested in Well Permits, but certainly wants to know about our Attractions and Recreation.)

Four of the Perspectives are as described above and in the SITE-WIDE NAVIGATION Help section: Living Here, Working Here, Business and Visitors. The other two are a bit different.
Government is the button to use if you already know what government department or agency has the information you want, and you just want a fast track to get there.
Emergencies is a one-click route to information you need immediately. Although most people know to Call 911 for immediate life-threatening emergencies, there are also issues like food, housing, and other health and safety problems that don't require a 911 call. We'll work to provide fast, accurate, critical information under this button.
As always, we welcome your comments on our new Perspectives structure! Improvements will be forwarded back to the State Library to be shared with other Counties in California. If you have ideas, just Email the Webmaster!
