The Public Health Department has a number of Community Wellness & Prevention programs, housed in its Health & Wellness Division. The Mission of the Health & Wellness Division is to build community partnerships that increase leadership engagement in promoting health & wellness among the Nevada County community-at-large, community-based organizations, agencies, schools, and individuals.
The Health & Wellness Division creates and implements health promotion and wellness programs based on formal needs assessments and community requests. Health & Wellness staff works closely with community health providers, school personnel and administrators, and various community-based organizations. Staff implements health and wellness programs at the environmental level in addition to promotion of Countywide ordinances and policies that promote public health.
