2009 Seasonal Flu Clinics and Recommendations
The Public Health Department is offering Seasonal Flu Shots.

Nevada County Public Health Department is offering community Seasonal Flu Shot Clinics.

Flu Shots $10.00

We encourage those that have Medi-Care, Medi-Cal, or Health Insurance and a medical home, to seek their flu shot at their provider’s office.

Recommendations for California Flu Vaccine Program are:
  •  Children ages 6 months to 18 years old
  •  Anyone 50 years of age or older
  •  Pregnant women
  •  Persons with high risk medical conditions such as: Chronic
     Lung Disease including Asthma, Heart Disease, Diabetes,
     Kidney Disease, Anemia and other blood disorders
  •  Persons whose immune system is compromised by
     medications or other immune diseases
  •  Healthcare workers
  •  Anyone living with or caring for children from Birth to 5 years
     old
  •  Anyone living with or caring for persons at high risk,
     including household contacts

Also offered at these clinics are:
  •  Tdap (Tetanus and Pertussis)
  •  Pneumovax (Pneumonia)

Provides education to community schools, medical practitioiners, and childcare centers regarding lead poisoning screening, lead exposure risks and resources.

The MCAH Program assesses and provides health services for mothers, infants, children and adolescents.

Provides immunizations, counseling and other health services.
Truckee Public Health Services
If you live in eastern Nevada County, you'll find concise information just for you in this section.
Vital Records
Registers all births and deaths in Nevada County. The Vital Records Office also issues burial permits and certified copies of birth and death certificates.
Women, Infants and Children Services
Provides supplemental food and nutrition education to pregnant and new moms, and to families with infants and children under the age of five years. Fathers and legal guardians may also receive services for their children.
