Administer and maintain sewage collections systems and treatment facilities for Nevada County Sanitation District No. 1.

There are ten (10) zones within the Sanitation District with facilities that collect and treat 1,245,000 gallons of wastewater each day. The Sanitation District provides sewer service to 5,230 accounts in western Nevada county with a population of 14,000.

ZONES IN THE DISTRICT:

Lake Wildwood (LWW) Zone 1
Lake of the Pines (LOP) Zone 2
North San Juan (NSJ) Zone 4
Gold Creek (GC) Zone 5
Penn Valley (PV) Zone 6
Mountain Lakes Estates (MLE) Zone 7
Cascade Shores (CS) Zone 8
Eden Ranch (ER) Zone 9
Higgins Village (HV) Zone 11
Valley Oak Court (VOC) Zone 12

ANNUAL SEWER CHARGES:

Parcel charges (connected and standby) are calculated for each respective zone. An indication that they have been collected is shown on each property owner's Tax Bill.

SEWER CONNECTION PERMITS:

Reminder: all sewer service connection inspection requests need to be scheduled 48 hours in advance by calling (530) 265-1411.

Applications for sewer connections within any one of these four zones:

Lake Wildwood (LWW)
Lake of the Pines (LOP)
North San Juan (NSJ)
Cascade Shores (CS)

are obtained and submitted at the Community Development Agency. (The CDA Website is HERE.)

Applications for these four zones:

Penn Valley (PV)
Mountain Lakes Estates (MLE)
Eden Ranch (ER)
Valley Oak Court (VOC)

are obtained and submitted at the Department of Sanitation.

The Gold Creek (GC) and Higgins Village (HV) zones are 100% built out so no applications are currently being processed.
