Volunteer Program

Purpose & Goals

Volunteers in the Sheriff’s Office offer their talents, skills, abilities and dedication to provide services to their community. Our Volunteers epitomise our Community Orientated Policing philosophy. In 2006, our more than 50 Volunteers logged 10,557 hours of service. Using the national average wage of $14.80 per hour of service this equates to a savings to the department of $156,244. They are involved in many aspects of our day to day operations, and continue to be an invaluable resource to the department and our community.
