Vision Statement: Within the County, the Veterans Service Office will provide the leadership necessary to become the center for veterans' claims, projects promoting veterans, and advocacy efforts for veterans' rights and entitlements. The Veterans Service Office will provide the personnel and tools needed to fulfill this vision. Principles: Veterans, their dependents and survivors are very special people. We will provide the utmost respect, courtesy and quality of service. The confidentiality of all records shall be respected and guarded. To insure quality of service, Veterans Service Office staff will avail themselves of continuing education opportunities. We will educate clients and veterans' groups permitting them to understand the claims process and the availability of benefits. We will maintain a professional working relationship with other veterans' service groups, other County agencies, departments and organizations whose cooperation and support benefit veterans. We will conduct ourselves with openness, honesty, fairness and integrity at all times. We will serve equally all veterans, their dependents and survivors, without regard to race, religion, gender, age, ethnicity, disability status, sexual preference or service organization affiliation. We will at all times act in such a manner as to portray a positive image both of County government in general and the Veterans' Service Office in particular.
