The mission of Adult Services under the Department of Social Services (DSS) is opening doors, building community, and being of service to County citizens needing social, eligibility, or employment training services.
Services & Support
Adult Services of Nevada County provides a wide array of services and support to elders and dependent adults in our community with the goal of helping individuals remain safely in their own homes. This is accomplished through investigations, assessments and referrals to appropriate agencies and programs.

Any concerned person can report known or suspected elder or dependent adult abuse or neglect. Reports can be made 24 hours per day, 7 days per week by calling 530-265-1639 or 888-339-7248. Here are the links to a fillable form (English or Spanish) for your report:

The IHSS Program provides assistance to eligible aged, blind and disabled individuals who are unable to remain safely in their own homes without this assistance.
Older Americans Month
Since 1963, communities across the country have shown their gratitude by celebrating Older Americans Month each May.
Public Guardian
The Public Guardian Office safeguards the lives and property of conservatees who cannot care for themselves with the least possible restriction.
