Child Abuse Prevention Programs

Families may choose to engage voluntarily in supportive services to increase family functioning and reduce the risk of child abuse or neglect and need for intervention. Families may be self-referred, referred by Child Welfare Services (CWS) after a report, or referred by a community agency or school.

Rapid Response Team (RRT)

The Rapid Response Team is a service provided by Victor Community Support Services and utilizes a strength-based approach to support and empower families in accessing their natural supports and achieving individualized goals. This is done with the use of a team approach that quickly wraps the family with support and services in order to assist them in achieving stability and success across multiple life domains. The overall goal of Rapid Response is to reduce the likelihood of future involvement from Child Welfare or Probation for every family served by creating sustainable plans that address family and community safety.

How do I qualify for Rapid Response?

Referrals for Rapid Response will be determined by CWS. Following a Suspected Child Abuse Report (SCAR) or a referral from Juvenile Probation, CWS may recommend the RRT to help stabilize your family and to address immediate safety needs that are identified. The RRT will be recommended in place of court-mandated services if your family does not meet criteria for CWS or Juvenile Probation to open formal services.
