Main Branch

The Madelyn Helling Library is the main branch of the Nevada County Community Library system, located near the Eric Rood Government Center in Nevada City. Open six days a week, this bustling branch always has something interesting going on.

Collaborative Technology Center (CTC)

 The Madelyn Helling Library CTC offers free technology classes and the use of digital resources.  Check our calendar to sign up for classes or call for assistance at 530-265-7050.


Gene Albaugh Community Room

The Madelyn Helling library is the also the home of the library's Gene Albaugh Community Room, available for rental at $10 per hour with a 2 hour minimum and 10 hour per month maximum.

Gold Rush and Prospector Study Rooms

Two study rooms are available for reservation for 1 or 2 hour increments.  You may make a study room reservation up to fourteen days in advance. Capacity not to exceed 6 people and rooms are not to be used for business purposes, including paid tutoring.

Madelyn Helling Library Display Cases

There are two display cases at the Madelyn Helling Library.  Please review the display case guidelines prior to making a reservation.  An application must be submitted and will be reviewed prior to acceptance to accommodate all groups and are handled on a first come first serve basis.

Marian E. Gallaher, M.D. Amphitheater

The Madelyn Helling library offers an outdoor Amphitheater, available daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Review rental agreement and Amphitheater calendar for availability.
