Nevada County Community Library cardholders can access free, unlimited internet within the United States where a T-Mobile or Verizon Signal is available through our Wi-Fi hotspot lending program.
Portable hotspots allow library cardholders who do not have home internet access to easily get online using a Wi-Fi enabled device such as a phone, tablet or laptop. Hotspots are available to check out from select Nevada County Community Libraries, just like a book or DVD.
Patrons may place a hold and checkout 1 hotspot at a time.
Hotspots may be returned to the library book drop.
Hotspots are available at the Bear River, Grass Valley, Madelyn Helling, Penn Valley and Truckee branches.
The loan period for hotspots is 14 days.
Hotspots are renewable if no one else has a hold on the item.
Up to 10 devices can be connected to a hotspot at the same time.
Simple instructions are included with each hotspot.
Contact the library if parts of the kit are lost or damaged.
Hotspots that are overdue will be disabled remotely.
Hotspots can be found in the catalog using the search term: "hotspot".
Hotspots are made available through a grant from the Network of National Library of Medicine.
