Nevada County was one of five to first implement the California Voter’s Choice Act in 2018. Every voter receives a ballot in the mail and is able to cast a ballot by mail, at a drop box, or in person at a vote center. There are approximately 75,000 registered voters in all of Nevada County.
All active registered Nevada County voters are all sent a ballot in the mail 29 days before the election. Each ballot sent through the mail contains an “I Voted” sticker. Voters are also provided with an “I Voted” sticker when they appear in person to cast a ballot.
The artist whose design/concept is chosen by the public will have their design sent to all registered voters in Nevada County via the “I Voted” sticker included with every mailed ballot.
The Registrar of Voters presents this unique opportunity to allow artists to participate in a larger voter education and engagement effort.
