Tex Ritter is the Director of the Sierra Nevada Regional Department of Child Support Services and the Nevada County Collections Division. He has presented classes on Introduction of Documentary Evidence, Criminal Prosecution of Child Support Cases, Substance Abuse, Cracking the hard Cases, Ethics, and Elimination of Bias. Tex is a presenter for NCSEA, CSDA, CDAA, WiCSec, ERICSA, Nevada Child Support Enforcement Training Association, Ohio Child Support Directors Association, and regional and local DCSS agencies, bar organizations, and judges and commissioners.
Tex has been in the Child Support Program since 1991; first as a Deputy District Attorney with Riverside County, then with Marin County DCSS, and now with Sierra Nevada Regional DCSS. He has handled all types of enforcement including invasion of a spendthrift trust, successful convictions in criminal jury trials for failure to provide support, bankruptcy matters, and over a dozen others.
Tex received his baccalaureate from Universite` de Bretagne Occidentale, Accademie de Rennes (France) and graduated from St. Mary’s College of California. He graduated from the University of Houston Law School with honors. Tex was a bankruptcy clerk for the Honorable R.F. Wheless, Jr., Southern District of Texas. Tex is fluent in Spanish and French, and knowledgeable in American Sign Language.
Tex is a contributing editor for the Cases of Interest and Child Support Interstate Sourcebook CSDA publications. Tex is on the Legal Practices Committee and was on the Judicial Council Forms Committee and over committees and sub-committees in child support.
Tex is an Ironman Triathlete and has run over 30 marathons (including Boston, Berlin, and Los Angeles marathons) and four Ironman Triathlons, dozens of smaller Triathlons (including the Malibu Triathlon and the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon).
