On behalf of Gregory J. Diaz, County Clerk-Recorder Registrar of Voters, I would like to announce that the Nevada County Election’s office along with our IT department was awarded the CCISDA Innovation Award for Vote Center Initiative.
The California County Information Systems Directors Association (CCISDA) awarded Nevada County with the 2018 Innovation Award for work on the Vote Center Initiative for the under 700,000 population category. The project team consisted of staff from Information Systems and from the Elections Office.
Nevada County was one of five counties in California to serve as a pilot for the Voter's Choice Act, a new law passed in 2016, SB450, that will modernize elections in California by allowing counties to conduct elections under a model which provides greater flexibility and convenience for voters in California.
