Vote-by-mail ballots will be mailed out in October 2016. All ballots must be received in the Elections Office or at any Nevada County polling place by 8:00 pm on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. However, a ballot is considered timely cast if it is received by our office via the United States Postal Service or a bona fide private mail delivery company no later than three (3) days after election day, and either the ballot is postmarked on or before election day or is time stamped or date stamped by a bona fide private mail delivery company on or before election day.

California law allows voters to cast their ballots as early as 29 days before an election. For the November 8, 2016, Presidential General Election, early voting will begin October 11, 2016. There are two early voting locations in Nevada County:
Truckee Town Hall: Phone number 530-582-7700. Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Paper ballots are not available at this location. You will be able to vote on an electronic voting device.
