Nevada County Department of Environmental Health has been working closely with Certified Farmers Market (CFM) managers during this unprecedented time. CFM managers have taken a proactive approach to ensure they will be able to meet the requirements of the guidance from California Department of Public Health and the guidance provided by Nevada County Department of Environmental Health.
CFM managers have taken steps to increase social distancing within their markets and are providing handwashing stations for both customers and vendors. Additionally, some farmers have implemented a pre-order for the market program which allows customers to pre-order directly from the farmer and pick up at the market.
Nevada County Department of Environmental Health encourages you to visit the website, or contact, your favorite CFM to see what steps they have taken to ensure a safe environment at the market.
With the precautions taken by the CFM managers and producers, residents continue to have additional access points to fresh food supplied direct from the producer. Nevada County Department of Environmental Health is proud of this working relationship and the proactive approach we have observed throughout our community.
