Public hearings to consider and establish revised Fee Schedules for the Nevada County Animal Control

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2020, at 10:45 a.m., or as soon thereafter as the matters may be heard, in the Board of Supervisors Chambers, First Floor, Eric Rood Administrative Center, 950 Maidu Avenue, Nevada City, California, the Nevada County Board of Supervisors will conduct public hearings to consider and establish revised Fee Schedules for the Nevada County Animal Control & Shelter, Library, Sheriff, and Treasurer-Tax Collector departments. The proposed update will affect user fees related to the cost of providing certain individual services, and reflect changes in the cost to provide covered services, including the cost of labor, materials and overhead.

The revised Fee Schedules and supporting documents will be available for public inspection beginning May 22, 2020 on the County Executive office’s website at: https://www.mynevadacounty.com/366/County-Budget-Portal.

In accordance with Governor Newsom’s Executive Order pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic and the social distancing guidelines as outlined by the Nevada County Public Health Department, the Board of Supervisors Chambers will remain closed to members of the public.

Before the meeting, members of the public can provide comments on the Final Budget by:

  1. Writing a letter to the Board of Supervisors

  2. Leaving a voice mail message at (530) 264-0554

  3. Emailing BOS.PublicComment@co.nevada.ca.us

  4. Leaving an eComment by clicking the link on the Board’s video streaming website at: https://www.mynevadacounty.com/822/Meeting-Information-Video-Streaming.

During the meeting, members of the public can provide comments on the Final Budget by:

  1. Writing a letter to the Board of Supervisors

  2. Leaving a voice mail message at (530) 264-0554

  3. Emailing BOS.PublicComment@co.nevada.ca.us

  4. Leaving an eComment by clicking the link provided on the Agenda, which will be available the afternoon of Thursday, May 21, 2020.

You have the right to participate in the public hearings to discuss the discuss the revised Fee Schedules, by providing testimony in the manner outlined above, and/or submitting written materials regarding these matters. Written materials and comments (an original and 9 copies) may be submitted to the Clerk of the Board at 950 Maidu Avenue, Nevada City, CA 95959, prior to the public hearings. The Board Chair may place reasonable restrictions on the time allowed to any person to comment on these matters. Any person commenting on behalf of an organization or group who wishes additional time must have a written statement signed by an officer of that organization stating that he/she is authorized to speak on behalf of that body, and that he/she is relaying the majority thinking thereof.
