NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at 1:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, the Board of Directors of Nevada County Sanitation District No. 1 will hold a Public Hearing to consider the proposed adjustments and increases in Sewer Service Charge fees for all customers within the District for Fiscal Years 2021/22 through 2025/26. At the Public Hearing, any record owner of a parcel upon which the Sewer Service Charges are proposed to be imposed and any tenant directly liable for the payment of Sewer Service Charge fees may submit a written protest to the proposed Sewer Service Charge adjustments and increases to the District’s service charges. Protest must (1) be in writing, (2) state which utility service rate adjustments(s) the identified property owner or tenant is protesting, (3) provide the location of the identified parcel by street address or assessor’s parcel number, and (4) include the name and signature of the property owner or tenant submitting the written protest. Only one protest will be counted per identified parcel.

on or before the Public Hearing date, or in person at the Public Hearing. To be counted, written protests must be received before the close of public comment portion of the Public Hearing. Any protest submitted via e-mail or other electronic means will not be accepted as a valid written protest.
Any person interested may appear at the Public Hearing and be heard on any matter related to the proposed adjustments and increases in Sewer Service Charges. At the Public Hearing, the District will consider all written protests. Oral comments at the Public Hearing will not qualify as formal protests unless accompanied by a written protest. At the end of the Public Hearing, the District Board will consider the adoption of the proposed adjustments and increases. If a majority of District customers (50% + 1) protest in writing against the proposed fees, the District will not adjust or increase the Sewer Service Charges. The public meeting will be held at the Eric Rood Administration Center Board of Supervisor Chambers, located at 950 Maidu Avenue, Nevada City, unless Governor Newsom's Executive Order pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic and/or the social distancing guidelines as outlined by the Nevada County Public Health Department are still in effect at that time. In the case of ongoing social distancing, the Board Chambers will remain closed to the public as they are currently. The District Board will attend the meeting and participate remotely to the same extent as if they were present. If social distancing measures are in effect and the meeting occurs online, members of the public may still provide live public comment during the hearing and may submit written comments on this matter by email, U.S. Mail, or through our eComment system at www.mynevadacounty.com/boardmeetings. In order for comments to be entered into the administrative record of the meeting, they must be received no later than 8:00 a.m. on the morning of the noticed meeting.
